The small-slope approximation method applied to a three-dimensional slab with rough boundaries

چکیده
In this paper we present new results on the small-slope approximation method. We consider different three-dimensional structures like a randomly rough surface separating two different media and a slab delimited by one or two rough surfaces. We extend the small-slope approximation to the fourth order terms of the perturbative development, and give the expression of the cross-sections for the different polarization states. Numerical examples are treated for the studied structures and a comparison with the small-perturbation is discussed.

Sea Surfaces Scattering by Multi-Order Small-Slope Approximation: a Monte-Carlo and Analytical Comparison
L-band electromagnetic scattering from two-dimensional random rough sea surfaces are calculated by first- and second-order Small-Slope Approximation (SSA1, 2) methods. Both analytical and numerical computations are utilized to calculate incoherent normalized radar cross-section (NRCS) in mono- and bi-static cases. For evaluating inverse Fourier transform, inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) i...

Slab method of analysis has been used for solving metal forming problems for a long time. However it has been restricted to plane strain and axisymmetric problems due to limitations in its formulations. In this paper a new formulation has been proposed so that it could be applied to three dimensional problems in metal forming. A parametric slab has been considered in this analysis and the force...

In this paper, three types of (philosophical, optimistic and pessimistic) multigranulation single valued neutrosophic (SVN) covering-based rough set models are presented, and these three models are applied to the problem of multi-criteria group decision making (MCGDM).Firstly, a type of SVN covering-based rough set model is proposed.Based on this rough set model, three types of mult...
متن کاملBackscattering enhancement of an electromagnetic wave scattered by two-dimensional rough layers.
The problem of an electromagnetic wave scattered by a slab with two rough boundaries is solved by the small-perturbation method under the Rayleigh hypothesis. To obtain the perturbative development, we use a systematic procedure that involves integral equations called the reduced Rayleigh equations. Then we show for a dielectric slab deposited on a silver film that the backscattering enhancemen...
متن کاملA new application of reduced Rayleigh equations to electromagnetic wave scattering by two-dimensional randomly rough surfaces
The small perturbations method has been extensively used for waves scattering by rough surfaces. The standard method developped by Rice is difficult to apply when we consider second and third order of scattered fields as a function of the surface height. Calculations can be greatly simplified with the use of reduced Rayleigh equations, because one of the unknown fields can be eliminated. We der...
